- Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and name.
- Email Content: When you connect your email account (Gmail or Outlook), we access your emails to generate AI-powered summaries. We only process emails you choose to summarize.
- Podcast Data: Information about podcasts you subscribe to for summaries, including podcast names and episode details.
- Usage Data: Information about how you use Synchrono, including features accessed, audio listened to, and preferences.
- Payment Information: When you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed securely through Apple (App Store). We do not store your full payment card details.
- Device Information: Device tokens for push notifications, device type, and operating system.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Providing the Service: To generate AI summaries of your emails and podcasts, and deliver them to you.
- Push Notifications: To send you notifications when your summaries are ready or for important account updates.
- Service Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and improve Synchrono's features and performance.
- Customer Support: To respond to your inquiries and provide technical assistance.
- Billing: To process subscription payments and manage your account.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes without your consent.
3. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. This includes:
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest.
- Secure authentication using industry-standard protocols.
- OAuth 2.0 for email integrations (we never store your email password).
- Time-limited access tokens for sensitive audio content.
4. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Specifically:
- Email Summaries: Retained until you request deletion or delete your account.
- Podcast Summaries: Retained while you remain subscribed to the podcast.
- Audio Files: Temporarily stored for playback, then removed according to our retention schedule.
- Account Data: Retained until you delete your account.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Synchrono:
- Google (Gmail API): To access and summarize your Gmail emails.
- Microsoft (Outlook API): To access and summarize your Outlook emails.
- Apple App Store: To process in-app purchases and subscriptions.
- AI Services: To generate text summaries and audio.
These providers are only authorized to use your information as necessary to provide services on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies.
6. Your Rights
- Access Your Data: You can view your account information and usage within the Synchrono app.
- Disconnect Email Accounts: You can disconnect your Gmail or Outlook account at any time from the app settings.
- Delete Your Account: You can request account deletion from within the app or by contacting us. This will permanently delete all your data.
- Data Portability: You may request a copy of your data by contacting us at hey@darangilabs.com.
7. Children's Privacy
Synchrono is rated 4+ on the App Store and is suitable for all ages. For users under 18, we recommend parental guidance when connecting email accounts. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child without appropriate consent, please contact us immediately.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the effective date will be noted above. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or via email.
